Divine Testimony for the Resurrection

Is the Shroud of Turin the actual burial cloth that once wrapped the corpse of Jesus? If it is, why were the Gospel writers silent about its mysterious, full-body image? Might there actually be cryptic references to the image within the New Testament that have gone unnoticed until now? And if there are such references, why are they cryptic?
