Getting the Nod from Himself resurrects the mock heroic style in Chaucer, Cervantes and Orwell while Etcetera's account of Heaven and Hell, as witnessed by Saint Ellen, gives a cursory nod to Dante. More a wink than a nod has been given to the earthiness in some of The Canterbury Tales.
