A widow's son and daughter persuade her to move back to the family home she left, and the family - grandfather, cousins, the whole arrangement - closes over them. Yonge lived her whole life in one Hampshire village and taught Sunday school there for seventy-one years; the subtitle is Domineering, and the domineering is done by children who mean nothing but good.
