There was little or no resistance to the advance of the government’s troops. In fact, the welcome the columns received as they advanced was overwhelmingly positive. The constant disruption of order in our beloved nation must come to an end. In order to assist in this goal I have elected to leave. I do this in great sorrow, but believe it to be the best for all concerned.
