Khufu''s Wisdom- The first novel in Mahfouz''s historical trilogy, and it is also the first novel he published in general. It revolves around King Khufu during the construction of the Great Pyramid, where he hears of the prophecy of the magician Dedi exclaiming that he will be the last king of the family to rule Egypt, after whom a child born in the village of one of the priests will rule.
