Lost in Indian Country

This story is about a soldier, Alvin Scott, who is ambushed by Indians while on patrol in the 1860s. The patrol is killed, but Alvin is just wounded badly and is unconscious. An Indian woman, who had been kicked out of her tribe, watches the ambush from a rocky crag high above the ambush. She comes to the scene after the Indians leave to scavenge anything she can use.
