Mahavakyam

In Vedas, short but complete sentences which introduce Brahma are called Mahavakyas. In Shaiva tradition there are four mahavakyas followed by five in Vaishnavas, one in Saura, twenty-two in Skanda, eight in Ganapatya, one in Shakta and twenty-five as most in Nigraha tradition as compilation.
