Moment of Peace (A Short Story)

Black and white, good and evil, us vs. them: Tyrlana has spent a lifetime soldiering from one world to the next as a pawn in a galactic game of chess.  She knows the rules and how to follow them, but a chance encounter might cause her to realize that some rules are meant to be broken. This story is also available in The Middle of Midnight: Speculative Stories.
