What are the psalms?

This volume begins The People’s Bible commentary on the Book of Psalms and covers the first 72 psalms. King David, a gifted poet and musician, composed many of these psalms—these hymns of praise, lament, and thanksgiving—to express his faith in the Lord. His psalms have come to be treasured by believers throughout the centuries for their depth of faith and their beauty.
