Published in 1914, this satirical fantasy features Arcade, a guardian angel converted to atheism.  Stripped of his wings, he joins the other fallen angels who plot to overthrow God. Said The New York Times, "It is difficult to recall a bigger, wittier, or more entertaining satire within the past hundred years."
