Stories of our Neighbourhood- A unique novel in its composition, consisting of many stories that appear at first glance as self-contained narrative units, but come together so that they draw an image of the neighborhood, or of the world as Mahfouz sees it, drawn from the eyes of a child who grew up in the neighborhood and experienced its people and conditions.
