Master Sergeant Vassili Zaitsev emerged from the battle of Stalingrad as an unlikely Soviet war hero with his actions conducted out of love for his country and a severe patriotic belief. MSG Zaitsev played a key role in the destruction and surrender of the German 6th Army.
