In 1951, while Herb served as a cryptographer with the US Air Force in Munich, Germany, he purchased his first pieces of beer memorabilia: eight beer glasses. He and wife Helen didn’t know it yet, but this small purchase would lead to them having the largest private collection of beer memorabilia in the world.
