God Colored Me Black is poetry. I desire parents, teachers, aunts, and uncles to memorize it with young children to promote high self-esteem. Growing up in the south, family and friends would tease me about the color of my skin. For some reason, God never allowed me to develop a low self-image. Being darker has been one of my greatest strengths. I chuckle, just thinking about the beauty of my skin...
