Unified Field Mechanics, the topic of the 9th international symposium honoring noted French mathematical physicist Jean-Pierre Vigier cannot be considered highly speculative as a myopic critic might surmise.
Using Cartan's differential 1-forms theory, and assuming that the motion variables depend on Euclidean invariants, certain dynamics of the material point and systems of material points are developed.
In the year 2015, 100 years after Fred Hoyle was born, the ideas relating to the cosmic origins of life are slowly gaining credence in scientific circles.
This book provides extended versions of the talks given at the memorial Pomeranchuk-100 Conference, June 5-6, held in the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics, Moscow, Russia and the review of the 2013 Pomeranchuk Prize Winner - Mikhail Shifman.
This workshop was one of the first meetings where cosmologists, astronomers, astrophysicists, and nuclear physicists discussed research areas of mutual interest.
The subject of Quantum Cosmology is concerned with providing a quantum mechanical description of the universe as a whole and, within that description, to constructing a theory of the universe's initial condition whose predictions can be compared with observation.
Notes prepared in Collaboration with Ranjeet S Tate It is now generally recognized that perturbative field theoretical methods that have been highly successful in the quantum description of non-gravitational interactions cannot be used as a means of constructing a quantum theory of gravity.
The Proceedings discusses the present state of the art in detector development and design for high energy particle physics and astrophysics, both for the next generation experiments and for apparatus upgrade.
The proceedings present new results obtained from recent observations by the Haverah Park, Yakutsk, Fly's Eye and Akeno groups on the shape of the energy spectrum, the arrival direction (point source) and the nature of the most energetic cosmic rays.
This proceedings contains the talks delivered at plenary and parallel sessions by leading researchers in both classical and quantum general relativity and in astrophysics.
The proceedings of this workshop consideres the prospects for opening up a new window on the universe with the generation of High Energy Neutrino telescopes now under construction or being planned.
This book provides a survey of the basic ideas of the cellular automaton (CA) modelling environment, emphasising the relevance of this framework to astrophysical applications.
This volume covers a variety of modern aspects of the observational, experimental and theoretical studies on the origin, evolution and distribution of the elements in the Universe.
The strongest part of this volume is the treatment of nonperturbative field theory with implications for baryon number violation at high energies and cosmology.
The success of the standard model in explaining low energy ( 100GeV) physics within the framework of spontaneously broken Yang-Mills theory has given physicists the hope that the Einstein dream of a unified theory of fundamental interactions might be achieved using geometrical methods of local symmetry principles supplemented by consistency requirements such as renormalization, unitarity and, most crucially, compatibility with present low energy data.
This book provides an updated understanding of the progress and current problems in the interplay between fundamental physics, astrophysics and cosmology.
The workshop on "e;Frontiers of Astronomy in 1990s"e; was held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Astronomical Society.
