"A pesar de la importancia de la capacidad mediadora de las Iglesias en las regiones afectadas por el conflicto armado, son escasos y casi inexistentes los análisis académicos sobre el papel que han desempeñado curas locales, religiosos y religiosas y agentes de pastoral social en los esfuerzos por construir paz y reconciliación en regiones donde es escasa la presencia de las instituciones estatales.
