Biography: general

The book presents the life and achievements of Louis Wolowski (1810-1876), a descendant of Polish Jewish (frankist) family, a Polish insurgent of 1830-1831 and a French liberal economist, banker (creator of the Crédit Foncier) and republican politician between 1831 and 1876 .

With the recent selection of Frank Parker Day's 1928 novel Rockbound as CBC's 2005 "Canada Reads" winner, interest in the life and work of Day has never been greater.
