These Proceedings report the scientific results of an International Workshop on Methodology and Software for Interactive Decision Support organized jointly by the System and Decision Sciences Program of the International Institute for Applied Sys- tems Analysis (nASA, located in Laxenburg, Austria) and The National Committee for Applied Systems Analysis and Management in Bulgaria.
It is not easy to summarize -even in a volume -the results of a scientific study con- ducted by circa 30 researchers, in four different research institutions, though cooperating between them and jointly with the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, but working part-time, sponsored not only by IIASA's national currency funds, but also by several other research grants in Poland.
Die vorliegende Dissertation entstand während meiner Tätigkeit als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Institut für Werkzeugmaschinen und Betriebswissenschaften (iwb) der Technischen Universität München.

It is the main purpose of the book to give a logically consistent foundation of migration decision making under incomplete information in a unified framework.
This thesis is a theoretical study of the optimal dynamic policies of a, to some extent, slowly adjusting firm that faces an exogeneously given technological progress and an exogeneously given business cycle.
In engineering and economics a certain vector of inputs or decisions must often be chosen, subject to some constraints, such that the expected costs arising from the deviation between the output of a stochastic linear system and a desired stochastic target vector are minimal.
Improvements in the performance of a freight transport system can be achieved either through technological innovation or by using advanced planning tools.
These Proceedings report the scientific results of an International Workshop on Large-Scale Modelling and Interactive Decision Analysis organized Jointly by the System and Decision Sciences Program of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA, located in Laxenburg, Austria), and the Institute for Informatics of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR (located in Berlin, GDR).
Fuzzy set theory, which started not much more than 20 years ago as a generalization of classical set theory, has in the meantime evolved into an area which scientifically, as well as from the point of view of applications, is recognized as a very valuable contribution to the existing knowledge.
This special volume contains the Proceedings of a Workshop on "e;Parallel Algorithms and Transputers for Optimization"e; which was held at the University of Siegen, on November 9, 1990.
A Silverman game is a two-person zero-sum game defined in terms of two sets S I and S II of positive numbers, and two parameters, the threshold T > 1 and the penalty v > 0.

In dieser Arbeit wird ein Verfahren vorgestellt, mit dessen Hilfe man die Informationsverarbeitung und die Kommunikation im Bürobereich optimal mit moderner Technik (EDV, Bürosysteme) unterstützen kann.
In these lecture notes which grew out of my lectures at the Honours classes of Honash University, I have attempted to develop queueing and storage problems from a unified viewpoint.
