Este texto desarrolla aprendizajes de la farmacología básica del principio activo (PA) de la forma farmacéutica (FF) o sistema de entrega del fármaco (SENF) y afines, utilizados por prescripción o automedicación en los servicios de atención primaria en salud (APS) del primer nivel de complejidad del Sistema General de Seguridad Social en Salud (SGSSS) colombiano, en este proceso complejo de enseñanza-aprendizaje significativo hacia el avance en la comprensión del estudio científico-técnico de la farmacocinética y la farmacodinamia de un PA por nombre genérico y clasificación farmacológica de uso en Colombia dentro una política farmacéutica nacional e internacional por la seguridad de los seres humanos.
Con frecuencia, los profesionales aplican la terapéutica farmacológica de forma empírica, haciendo uso repetitivo de unos cuantos medicamentos, sin tener en cuenta las interacciones farmacológicas, las contraindicaciones y advertencias, los eventos adversos, los nuevos medicamentos y la condición sistémica del paciente, entre otros.
