En 2014, cuando la negociación entre el Estado colombiano con las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) tomaba rumbos tan interesantes como problemáticos, un grupo de investigadores lideró una alianza estratégica con docentes de distintas áreas disciplinares y de diversas universidades, con el fin de iniciar un proyecto editorial de largo aliento que se concebía más como un "programa de investigación" y cuyo objetivo consistía en aportar estudios y reflexiones sobre los retos que, como sociedad, tenemos en la construcción de paz y en la tramitación no violenta de nuestros conflictos socioculturales, políticos y económicos.
